What shapes the final price

Why walkway prices vary.

Most of a walkway's quality is underground. These are the things we look at before we put any number in writing.

  • Length and width. Total square footage is the starting point.
  • Base and drainage. Excavation depth, compacted base, and where water goes decide how long it lasts.
  • Material. Concrete pavers, clay brick, and natural stone are priced differently.
  • Pattern and cuts. Herringbone, borders, and curves take more cutting and labor.
  • Grade changes. Slopes may need steps or a small retaining edge.
  • Removing the old walk. Breaking out and hauling old concrete or pavers adds to the scope.
