Spot Tuckpointing
Targeted repair
Only the joints that have actually failed are cut out and repointed — a stair-step crack, a weathered corner, a section near a downspout. The rest of the wall is left untouched.
A closer look at the joints that protect St. Louis brick. From targeted repairs to historic lime-rich mortar work, the right mix begins with the wall itself.

Targeted repair
Only the joints that have actually failed are cut out and repointed — a stair-step crack, a weathered corner, a section near a downspout. The rest of the wall is left untouched.
One elevation, renewed
Every joint on an entire wall or elevation is ground out and repointed. The right call when deterioration is spread across the face rather than concentrated in spots.
The first impression
The brick piers, columns, and skirt walls of a St. Louis porch take weather from every side. We repoint the joints and address loose or shifted brick so the entry feels solid again.
Above the roofline
Chimneys weather faster than any other part of the house. We repoint failing joints, address the crown and cap area, and match the mortar to the original work.
Older mortar, softer touch
St. Louis City’s older brick was laid with softer, lime-rich mortar. Repointing it with the wrong mix can damage the brick itself. We match hardness, color, and joint profile to the original.
At the ground line
Joints at and just above grade stay wetter and deteriorate faster. We repoint the foundation courses and look at the drainage conditions that caused the damage.
The exposed top
Parapet walls take rain on both faces and the top. We repoint open joints, address loose brick near the roofline, and evaluate the coping that sheds water.
Invisible repairs
New mortar that doesn’t match reads as a patch forever. We blend sand, pigment, and profile to bring the repair closer in appearance to the surrounding wall as it cures.
Around windows & doors
The masonry above and beside openings carries concentrated load. We repoint the surrounding joints and evaluate rusting or failing lintels while we’re there.
The whole building
Every elevation, every joint — a full renewal of the building’s mortar. For masonry that has reached the end of its service life across the board, planned and phased with you.
